About
Anita Grewal is a visual artist who uses colour as her primary medium. Born in England and raised in India, she learnt early that colour carries emotional and cultural meaning beyond decoration.
Anita creates abstract geometric compositions in gouache on watercolour paper, where colour relationships generate illusions of transparency, depth and movement. Her practice draws on the colour theories of Josef Albers and the perceptual energy of Bridget Riley, alongside influences from science fiction, Indian architecture and miniature painting traditions.
Before focusing on her studio practice, Anita worked internationally as a mathematics teacher across England, India, Colombia, the United States and Germany, settling in Perth, Australia in 2018.
